In April 2012, the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA Budapest) hosted a delegation of high-ranking officials from the Civil Service Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Caucasian country has a rapidly developing economy and is a member of the Eastern Partnership. The visit primarily aimed to introduce the reforms of state, public administration and public services of both countries.

"The Basic Law of Hungary - A First Commentary" Book Launch

altStudies on Hungary’s new Basic Law published in English, in the above mentioned book were recently presented to the wide public. The book launch took place in the presence of international experts of law, diplomats and senior state officials at the Ceremonial Hall of the Hungarian Academy of Science on 17 February 2012. Speeches focusing on the background and goals of the "The Basic Law of Hungary - A First Commentary" volume were followed by professional commentaries in the interpretation of experts of law.

The presentation was preceded by great anticipation, as the book launch was honoured with an attendance of nearly 130 guests including delegates of 21 nations’ diplomatic missions.

András Patyi appointed as rector of National University for Civil Service

President of the Republic Pál Schmitt ceremoniously supplied the rector of the new University with credentials in the Sándor Palace. The professor and former judge of the Supreme Court András Patyi was authorized to fulfill mandate from 1st January 2012 until 31th December 2016 according to the recommendation of the Minister of National Resources and the interim Supporting Board of the University. Education is going to start in January, integrating three tertiary education institutions of the most important intellectual centers in Hungary, such as the Miklós Zrínyi National Defense University, the Police Academy and the Faculty of Public Administration of The Corvinus University of Budapest.

altIt is most common that further training and manager training systems operate separately, with independent institutions, portfolios and capacities. In order to bring the two systems into accord with each other, and also to better utilize available capacities and resources, it is necessary to integrate management and further training systems of the public administration, law enforcement and defence forces. The integrated system needs to set common rules, however, it also needs to take into consideration the special regulations of each different career lines.
